ABOUT THE TRAINING
Take a spirited voyage with us through the myths behind the yoga poses! Open to all yoga teachers, teacher trainees and those with a dedicated practice and love of mythology! Myths are like mirrors that meet you right where you are in life, guiding you through difficult moments with more grace and ease. In our two days together you will learn tons of mythical stories, how to distill messages and meanings out of them, and how to turn them into artful and inspiring yoga classes. Kelly’s goal is to help teachers create classes that incorporate philosophy and mythology in a relatable, down-to-earth way. By the end of the immersion you’ll have a pocketful of new tools to help you not only teach more skillfully, but to live more skillfully as well. As Joseph Campbell said, the first function of myth is to help you realize “what a wonder the universe is, what a wonder you are, and to experience awe before this mystery.” Come if you are feeling stuck, come if you need inspiration, come if you like artful yoga sequencing, or just come if you love stories!
ABOUT MASTER TEACHER: KELLY KAMM
Kelly Kamm has traveled the world, studied politics in D.C. and worked in fashion in NYC, but her true love has always been yoga. She owned Happy Buddha Yoga in upstate NY for 10 years, and now travels far and wide teaching yoga and telling stories. The list of teachers who inspire her is endless, but she owes much of her mythology and sequencing prowess to Douglas Brooks, the many wonderful teachers who certified her at Laughing Lotus, and her favorite teacher, Sondra Loring.
